Types of Wallpaper

Wall coverings are great to use in your home. Here are some of the most popular types of wall coverings.

Solid Vinyl Prepasted Wallcovering

This type of wall covering is available in many different colors and designs. It is a good wall covering to use anywhere in the home. It is easy to install and when you are ready to remove it and change your wall covering, vinyl prepasted wallcovering will just peel off.

To install this paper, you can use a water box, Universal Wall Covering Paste, Technobond, or a Prepasted Activator. We recommend using the Prepasted Activator since this is prepasted vinyl wall covering.

Pre-pasted Vinyl Coated Paper

This type of wall covering comes in many different sizes. It is available in a host of beautiful colors, styles, and designs. It is good to use in any room of your home but is especially suited for use in the bathroom. To install, you can use your own water box, Universal Wall Covering Paste, Technobond, or Prepasted Activator. We recommend using the Prepasted Activator since this is a repasted wall covering.

Fabric Backed Wall Covering

This wallcovering is strong and very durable. Fabric backed wall covering comes in two sizes: 54 inches for commercial applications and 27 inches for use in the home. To put it up, you can use Universal Wall Covering Paste or the Contractor Pro 880, which is the method we recommend.

Grasscloth Wall Covering

This is a natural fiber wall covering and includes grasses, strings, and silks. The textures and designs are so lovely that you will want to use it somewhere in your home. The paste should never get on the front of the wall covering, so you must be careful with seams and when applying the paste to the back. To install, you can use a Universal Wall Covering Paste, Technobond, or our recommendation, the Contractor Pro 880.

Specialty Wall Covering

This type of wall covering is custom made, including hand-printed designs. To install specialty wallcovering, you can use Universal Wall Covering Paste, Technobond or the Contractor Pro 880. Your specialty wall Covering will come with specific installation instructions, including which adhesive to use.

Textured Paintable Wall Coverings

These wall coverings have three advantages:

– They are beautiful because of their textured designed and can be painted or glazed.

– The deep texture helps hide imperfections.

– It can be placed directly over old wallcovering.

Non-woven Wall Covering

This is a fairly new type of wall covering, just reaching the market. It is extremely easy to install and remove. Instead of applying the paste to the wall covering, you apply the paste to the wall and then place the wall covering on the wall. Removing a room full of this wall covering can be done in 30 to 45 minutes. You use Universal Wallcovering Paste to put up this wall covering.

Liner Paper

This wall covering comes in a variety of weights and widths and is put on the wall before the primary wallcovering. If you have a problem wall, you can use a heavy weight liner to help disguise the problems. Use Universal Wall Covering Paste or our recommendation, Contractor Pro 880.

All wall covering comes with a label bearing certain important information. This includes the type of wall covering, if it can be washed, if it is peelable, nd its light fastness. Also included on the label is the dye lot #, the pattern, and the pattern #. Hanging instructions will be on the back of the wall covering label.
